6-8 June 2024
Introduction:
Since its inception in 2018, the Yangtze River Research and Innovation Belt (Y-RIB) has been contributing to meeting a growing demand for talent cultivation and joint research related to the Belt and Road Initiative, the River-Sea Intermodal Transport Service Center, and the Development of the Yangtze River Economic Zone. Following five annual conferences held in China, the 6th international conference of the Y-RIB will be held at Ocean College, Zhejiang University, China, on 6-8 June 2024. This conference is co-held by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP).
The importance of major rivers in the world is growing multi-dimensional, e.g., from cultural, social, economic, and environmental perspectives. In particular, river-sea, river-inland transportation networks and green logistics are focal issues along the rivers including the Mekong River, the longest river in Southeast Asia. Having considered the above, the main theme of this conference is entitled “Sustainable Inland Waterway Transport Development”.
